Tourism is a Top Priority here
With the cheap airfares and budget travel on the rise. People are
getting into traveling other places within the country or overseas. This
creates a new opportunity for local tourism to spring. The national
government is considering it making Diosdado Macapagal International
Airport (DMIA) as a dual airport with Ninoy Aquino International Airport
(NAIA) in Paranaque City, Metro Manila.
DMIA has been servicing international budget carriers such as Tiger
Airways, AirAsia and others airline companies with international flights
and destinations from Asian countries or cities like Hong Kong,
Bangkok, Seoul and even Darwin, Australia.
Local budget airlines such as Cebu Pacific, Zest Air, PAL Express have
already been servicing air transport and passenger services to local
destination in southern island of Visayas and Mindanao regions from
Diosdado Macapagal International Airport at Clark Freeport Zone in
Pampanga.
In a newspaper published report from The Philippine Daily Inquirer DMIA
is expected to serve 750,000 passengers by the end of this year. By next
year, "the number was seen to breach 1 million" said by Clark
International Airport President Victor Luciano, in an interview.
In the local event scenery, there are numerous places, events or festivals to visit, experience and see around Pampanga from Ibon-Ebon Festival in Candaba during late February, Tugak Festival in San Fernando in December, Clark Hot Air Balloon Fiesta at Clark Freeport during early to mid-February, San Fernando Giant Christmas Lantern (Ligligan Parul) Parade and Festival during Christmas season, Duman Festival - November in Sta. Rita and Sinukwan Festival just to name a few. This showcase how wonderful the people of this province celebrate special days in their locality.

Pampanga has a piece of the pie
Recent news have been channeled on the economic fundamentals of this
country. Pampanga in part have seen growth in the past decade with the
influx of major businesses expanding to this new growth centers wherein
Pampanga is part of "W growth corridor".
Road developments and upgrades from SCTEx and McArthur Highway has been
on-going since early 2009. The Clark Special Economic Zone turned into
Clark Freeport Zone in 2010. Sabah Al-Ahmad Global Gateway Logistics
City inside Clark Freeport Zone which is estimated worth at US$ 3
Billion from Kuwait. The facility is currently undergoing construction
and development. The business park in this zone may be fully operational
in the next five to seven years.
Public - Private Partnerships agreement between the national government
and private companies help boost economy in terms of infrastructure
developments during President Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. term.
The Philippine Stock Exchage (PSE) Index have been reaching a 7000 mark which is high in recent years. It has seen positive news of economic stimulus from local businesses and remittance by Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) wherein they are raking in Billions of US$ dollars. Pampanga is the strongest source of overseas workers and it "has remitted a P16.6 billion in remittances in 2006 and P161.2 million in donations to various organizations in the province to date " (Sunstar News Pampanga Nov 2012).
Other than the financial credit agency's such as Standard and Poor
(S&P) and International Monetary Fund have been giving ratings on
the state of the country. It was a thrilling news to see how the rapid
development is happening around the archipelago including this province.
It seems that our country is in the investors radars nowadays as one of
the emerging countries or so called - N11.
