Two months ago, Metro Manila and Central Luzon particularly the provinces of Bataan, Pampanga and Bulacan were affected with sudden downpour of heavy rains. We have experienced emergency situation on that particular week. Basic services were on a standstill as people are moving out to higher ground or flocking in to evacuation centers and seeking into safer place during those days of calamities.
There have been some reports of breaches in dam and tail dike in towns nearby especially the neighboring Santo Tomas and Minalin as reported by the mayor and local government official on those affected towns. Emergency units such as Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police, City of San Fernando - LGU Search and Rescue and other affiliated volunteer emergency units are on high alert. Disasters and tragedies have made those affected resilient in such calamities.
Since the days of heavy flooding and mudflow from Mt. Pinatubo in 1991 to the tragic 1 October 1995 onslaught of
Typhoon Mameng to recent times alot of Kapampangans, Bulakenyos and other people from Central Luzon have survived and lived to tell tales of such disasters.
People have become conscious and prepared on such disasters and calamities these day but still the people of Central Luzon will rise up again to return to their normal lives.
